Where a person had been issued with a letter indicating the intention to deport under Section 3 of the Immigration Act 1999, the recipient will generally be given 4 options with which to respond:

  • Leave the State voluntarily
  • Apply for humanitarian leave to remain
  • Apply for subsidiary protection
  • Consent to the deportation order
